March Male Athlete of the Month: Miguel Guzman

March 29, 2014 | BTSLA is pleased to announce Miguel Guzman as March Male Athlete of the Month. Miguel is an 8th Grader at Walnut Park School for Social Justice and Service Learning in South LA’s Florence-Firestone neighborhood. Miguel has taken to wrestling since day one and has yet to miss a practice or event since the inception of the Walnut Park program. A Gold Medalist at Decembers Jamboree competition, Miguel has shown to be a quick learner.
“Miguel is always the first at practice and the last to leave. He approaches wrestling with tenacity and is a natural leader. I have every confidence that Miguel will continue to be successful both on the mat in the the classroom” said Coach PJ Fritzler.
Miguel will be striving for back-to-back Gold Medals in the upcoming Jamboree on April 6th at San Pedro High School. The event marks the 2nd Jamboree of the 2013-14 school for BTSLA Middle School Programs.
