We are excited to announce that Mallory Velte has joined Beat the Streets LA as the new Associate Director of Mentorship and Programming. In this role, Mallory will help oversee our programs, develop innovative initiatives, and ensure that our mission to support and empower youth through wrestling is accomplished.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mallory Velte as Associate Director of Mentorship and Programming. Mallory will significantly strengthen our team and help us build upon the momentum we’ve generated over the past decade. As an accomplished athlete, a proven leader, and a strong believer in our Beat the Streets LA mission to empower young people through wrestling, we look forward to the impact she will have on our organization and the youth we serve,” said Executive Director Yero Washington.

Mallory, a California native from the Sacramento area, brings an impressive wrestling background to our team. She is a two-time senior World Bronze Medalist (2018, 2022 World Championships) and a two-time Pan American Champion (2020, 2023), representing Team USA, Beaver DAM RTC, and the Titan Mercury Wrestling Club. Prior to her senior career, Mallory won three College (WCWA) National Championships at Simon Fraser University in Canada and is a two-time California high school (CIF) state champion.

Off the mats, Mallory has been involved in athlete leadership and advocacy since 2018 and currently serves as the TEAM USA Athletes’ Commission Wrestling Representative, representing Men’s Freestyle, Men’s Greco-Roman, and Women’s Freestyle athletes. She currently resides in Corvallis, Oregon, with her husband, Ashkon, and their dog, Gino. They are excited to move to Los Angeles and join the Beat the Streets LA family.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be entrusted with the Associate Director of Mentorship and Programming position at Beat the Streets LA. My vision goes beyond service; it’s about creating a lasting impact on the community, athletes, volunteers, and coaches who dedicate themselves to the BTS mission. My background in sports psychology and positive coaching principles will be instrumental in shaping how we mentor and develop our athletes. I’m excited to learn from the incredible staff and coaches, and in turn, use my expertise to inform the curriculum we deliver,” said Mallory Velte.

Please join us in welcoming Mallory Velte to our team. We are confident that her skills and enthusiasm will be instrumental in driving our mission forward.

Welcome aboard, Mallory!
