Beat the Streets LA Fundraiser: A Community United for Student-Athletes

Posted: January 24, 2025

On January 12, 2025, Beat the Streets Los Angeles held our annual fundraiser at Mt. San Antonio College. The event was a success, rallying support for our student-athletes and Summer Enrichment Program. We were also proud to feature speeches from two exceptional Tomorrow’s Leaders participants, Marisa Alvarez and Abraham Datte.

The funds raised will support several key initiatives:

  • Annual Beat the Streets National Camp & Duals Summit – June 22-28 2025, Beat the Streets Los Angeles will send 35-40 top student-athletes to Philadelphia for elite training, career workshops, college visits, and challenging competition with other Beat the Streets chapters.
  • Tomorrow’s Leaders Program – In 2024/25 Beat the Streets Los Angeles is hosting a record-breaking 10 workshops, equipping student-athletes with leadership skills, college prep, and career development.
  • Summer Camp Scholarships – In 2025, Beat the Streets Los Angeles aims to award even more scholarships to deserving athletes. In 2024, 30 athletes received scholarships to train in an elite atmosphere with world-class coaches. Over the past 13 years, BTS LA has awarded over 800 scholarships.

Supporting Athletes Affected by Wildfires

This year’s event also aided athletes impacted by the January fires in Pacific Palisades, Altadena, and surrounding areas. Many student-athletes from La Cañada High School, Palisades Charter High School, and Marshall Fundamental High School lost homes or were displaced. Thanks to Rudis and USA Wrestling, we provided:

• 50 Rudis gift cards ($150 each) for essential gear

• Shoes, shorts, and shirts from BTSLA

• Wrestling gear from USA Wrestling
