A November to Remember

Posted: December 6, 2019

Beat the Streets Los Angeles kicked into full gear in November with three exciting events that gave our student-athletes an opportunity to explore university life, make new friends, and compete!

On Saturday, November 2nd, wrestlers from the Downtown Academy and Topanga Division wrestled in a USA Wrestling Tournament at Thousand Oaks High School. Several student-athletes from both programs took home medals.

The following Saturday, over 100 kids, coaches, and parents, from Beat the Streets LA attended a wrestling dual meet at Cal Baptist University between Cal Baptist and Life Pacific University. Our student-athletes enjoyed exploring the campus and witnessing all the possibilities that wrestling and higher education have to offer.

On November 16th, the San Pedro Storm hosted an LASPD Wrestling Showdown at San Pedro High School. Our community programs at San Fernando, Topanga Division, San Pedro Storm, and the Downtown Academy squared off in thrilling folkstyle matches to help prepare our athletes for the upcoming season.

Thank you to coaches Lennie Zalesky, Derek Moore, and Matt Williams and the administrative staff at Cal Baptist University, San Pedro High School, and all of our fantastic coaches, partners and parents who helped make these November trips possible!

Make sure to stay tuned for more upcoming Beat the Streets LA trips, events, and competitions throughout the season.
