Futures Camp Scholarship Application

The Beat the Streets Los Angeles Futures Camp is an opportunity for girls and boys entering grades 7 through 11 (in the fall of 2018) to experience a unique summer learning opportunity that blends wrestling instruction with science education alongside activities designed to develop life skills such as teamwork, character, courage, and curiosity. The camp will be held at Arrowhead Ranch in beautiful Lake Arrowhead, California. Those who receive scholarships to attend Futures Camp will develop skills that will help them on the wrestling mat, in the classroom, and in life.

To apply for a Futures Camp scholarship that will allow you to attend Futures Camp at no cost (including transportation), submit the application below.

Futures Camp scholarships will be awarded to those who display the following characteristics:
  • Academically driven
  • Desire to continue wrestling in the future
  • Participation in BTSLA events
  • Displays high ethical and moral character
  • Leadership among peers
  • Commitment to a BTSLA program Good sportsmanship
  • Love for the sport of wrestling!

Futures Camp for boys will be held on June 18–21, 2018
Futures Camp for girls will be held on June 25–28, 2018

Application deadline: May 1, 2018

Scholarships to attend Futures Camp are available only to students who will be entering grades 7 through 11 in the fall of 2018. Scholarship awards will be announced after all applications have been reviewed. Space is limited. Not all applicants will be awarded a Futures Camp scholarship.

Futures Camp Application 2018

  • This is the most important part of the application. It need to be completed by the student (not the parent). Take some time to reflect on your experiences in the sport of wrestling thus far and how a Futures Camp scholarship will be meaningful to you. In your personal statement, write about anything you would like us to know related to receiving a Futures Camp scholarship. Ideas to consider: 1. Describe in detail an experience you've had in the sport of wrestling and how this experience had a positive impact on your life. 2. Describe in detail how you envision wrestling being a part of your life in the future. 3. Describe how you will contribute to a positive experience for others at Futures Camp. Your personal statement should be between 125 and 250 words.
