Olympic Team Reception

January 2, 2012 |  In partnership with USA Wrestling, Beat the Streets – Los Angeles hosted a reception for supporters of the BTS-LA organization on December 18. The reception included members of the 2012 Olympic Wrestling Team, including Olympic Champions Jordan Burroughs and Jake Varner. Attendees where treated to speeches by Jordan and Jake on their experiences during the Olympics, the role wrestling has played in their lives and the importance of organizations such as BTS-LA. In addition, guests had the opportunity to mingle with the athletes, BTS-LA staff and the BTS-LA Executive Board.
“The partnership with USA Wrestling is significant. Our reach is broadened and our ability to help those in underserved communities of Los Angeles is increased.” said executive director, Yero Washington. “We look forward to hosting future events with USA Wrestling, similar to what BTS-NYC has done in recent years.”
