USC Campus Tour led by USC Wrestling Club

Posted: October 11, 2024

On Sunday, October 6th, Beat the Streets LA’s Tomorrow’s Leaders headed to the University of Southern California to enjoy a campus tour led by the USC Wrestling Club members: Brian Park, Michael Rea, and Tai Nguyen!

The day started at 10 AM with over 60 of our student-athletes gathered at the iconic Trojan Sword, marking the entrance to the McKay Training Center. The group explored several campus landmarks, including the Physical Education Building, Tommy Trojan, Traveler (USC’s beloved mascot), and both the Roski and Viterbi Buildings. The tour concluded with a well-deserved lunch at the USC Village Dining Hall.

Throughout the day, USC Wrestling Club members shared their personal experiences. Brian Park, a team captain and architecture major, spoke about balancing his passion for wrestling with his academic ambitions. Michael Rea discussed his journey as an aerospace engineering student, and Tai Nguyen gave the group insight into his studies in computer science game design at the Cinematic Arts Building.

This trip was designed to inspire our Tomorrow’s Leaders to envision their future in higher education. Through this visit, we hope to ignite their passion for learning and personal growth while demonstrating the value of building a community through wrestling. Regardless of if our athletes choose to seek an education at a school without a wrestling team, they can utilize the character, grit, perseverance they’ve learned on the mat to be successful in any of their endeavors.

Beat the Streets LA’s Tomorrow’s Leaders program continues to empower students to excel academically, develop leadership skills, and give back to their communities through wrestling. With the right support and resources, we believe they can accomplish all of their goals.
