Posted: October 10, 2019

The Beat the Streets Los Angeles 2019-2020 season is officially underway. With many exciting events on the horizon, including Beat the Streets LA tournaments, clinics, camps, a college visit, and more, there is certainly a lot to look forward to!

The season kicked off with two days of Coach & Mentor Training on October 5-6th featuring training from the National Wrestling Coaches Association, the LA84 Foundation, and Carl Fronhofer from the Ventura County Wresting Academy to help prepare our coaches for the upcoming season.

During the months of October and November, our middle school and community programs will launch. For more information about each individual program, including location and coaches contact information, click here.

Over the course of the season, our student-athletes will have the opportunity to take part in a college visit, wrestling clinics, competitive jamborees, and after-school showdowns, all leading up to the 2019-20 Beat the Streets LA championships on February 23, 2020.

Next spring, Beat the Streets LA will once again host the Angel City Grand Prix – the premiere all-girls freestyle wrestling tournament in Southern California.

In May, students, parents, coaches, and supporters of Beat the Streets LA will gather again at the Wiltern Theatre for our 6th Annual Beat the Streets Los Angeles Benefit. Stay tuned for details.

Next summer, Beat the Streets LA will once again award Futures Camp scholarships to some of our most dedicated wrestlers, allowing them to attend our four-day camp in beautiful Lake Arrowhead, California. This camp provides our students with an experience that blends high-level wrestling instruction with outdoor science education, character building and team building activities, and more.

This past summer we were honored to have two-time World Champion, Olympic Bronze Medalist, and 3x NCAA Champion J’Den Cox and World Gold Medalist and 3x World Team Member Tamyra Mensah-Stock as the featured clinicians at Futures Camp.
