Beat the Streets National & The Sports Bra Project Team Up To Close Gender Gap

Posted: April 28, 2021

The Sports Bra Project will be donating 1,500 sports bras for girls participating in Beat the Streets organizations across the country! The Sports Bra Project has a mission of increasing access sports for women and girls by removing barriers to participation. Beat the Streets exists to empower and transform the lives of youth living in under-resourced communities through the sport of wrestling.

The support of The Sports Bra Project helps ensure that girls who Beat the Streets organizations serve have what they need to go after their goals on the mat. Beat the Streets National would like to express gratitude for this generous and impactful gift by encouraging supporters to:

  • Make a Donation to The Sports Bra Project

  • Follow The Sports Bra Project on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

  • Tune in to Coaches Council Podcast with Founder, Sarah Dwyer-Shick (coming soon)

  • Participate in Mom & Me Workout scheduled for May 8th at 11am Katherine Shai @KatherineShai

Sports are known to improve educational and behavioral outcomes as well as improve physical and emotional health, but children living in poverty are 6x more likely to quit sports due to costs.

Together, this partnership can help ensure that girls in need have access to impactful experiences in sports-based youth development programs.
